Math in fourth grade at Sharon is fun, hands-on, and involves learning from a variety of teachers. At least once a week, students work with Mr. Sadowski to learn alternative methods and perspectives on fourth grade math concepts. Students also work with Miss Murray and Mrs. Bissalion on a daily basis to learn using mini-lessons, hands-on activities, small-group work, and more. Additionally, we use the Prodigy and IXL technology platforms to enhance student practice of core math concepts.
Some of our Envisions math units this year include: -Place Value -Adding and Subtracting Multi-Digit Numbers -Multiplication (1x1 digit fluency, 1x2 digit, 2x2 digit, and beyond) -Division -Fraction and Decimal Concepts -Geometry -Measurement and Data Additionally, we sprinkle in YouCubed (aka "Mindset Math") at different times throughout the year.
